 Post subject: Installation issue - no phone line socket

Hi guys,

I just applied an ADSL2+ with phone bundle. But I just figured out there is no phone line socket in my house. The house is just renovated and I am renting it.

I just find a box on the outside wall, like this:

The under box is a optus box, Is the upper box is a madison box?

I cannot find a telstra grey box. Does it mean there is no telstra phone line into my house ?

Hi soundlee,

Can you check with your landlord if there was a Telstra lead-in installed at the premises before?
If there are no sockets, you will have to coordinate with your landlord and a local electrician to install phone sockets at your premises

Hi Abby,

Thank you for your replay at first.

I checked with my landlord, and he said there is no Telstra lead-in in the house, so there is no phone line socket on the wall. He does not want me to install a new line as the house is newly renovated. so I want to cancel my application.

As technician does not yet come to my house to active the service, and my contract is no lock-in contract, can I get a fully refund?

I called TPG customer service around the noon. I spent over half an hour to wait some one transferring my phone from one person to another. At last, a person said the other person responsible for it was on the phone, and he would call me after 30 or 40 min. I thought it's OK. But no one call me back until now.

So can you help me to cancel the application ?

Hi soundlee,

I understand the reason why the account needs to be cancelled. Please send an email to adsl_cancel@tpg.com.au and state the reason for the cancellation of service. Thank you

I already sent a mail, and get a auto replied email. It said I will get a written response after one day. I still got nothing.

Is it a email or a post mail?
